Industrial belts served: Kanpur · Unnao · Sandila · Amausi · Chinhat · Malwan
The Kanpur and Unnao belt has a long history of chemical, fertiliser and leather processing, which puts a larger share of the tray package into stainless than its size would suggest.
The tanning cluster at Unnao and Jajmau is a specific case. Chromium and sulphide chemistry in a humid hall will consume a galvanized coating quickly, so stainless in those areas is a service life decision rather than a premium.
Mitool Equipments Pvt. Ltd. manufactures cable management systems at MIDC Additional Ambernath in Thane district and supplies them throughout Lucknow & Kanpur. We quote against your cable schedule and tray layout rather than a generic size list — send the drawing with the finish required and the quotation comes back with tray sizes, bends, reducers, coupler plates and supports listed line by line, with a dispatch date.
Perforated base for ventilation and cable fixing. Carries the control, instrumentation and lighter power cabling on most Lucknow and Kanpur installations.
Rail-and-rung construction built for weight and span. The choice wherever a perforated section would need supports too close together.
Adjustable bolted rungs for installations where the cable layout is still moving or where maintenance access matters.
Stainless tray in SS304 and SS316 for classified, washdown and chemically exposed areas where galvanizing will not last.
Supports and brackets that carry the run off a wall or structure, supplied in the same material and finish as the tray.
Matching accessories throughout — bends, risers, reducers, tee and cross sections, coupler plates and clamps.
A starting point for tray selection by application. Final selection follows your cable schedule, fill ratio and support spacing.
| Sector and belt | Typical tray | Usual finish |
|---|---|---|
| Fertiliser and chemicals Kanpur, Panki | Ladder tray for main runs, perforated for instrumentation | SS316 in process areas, hot dip galvanized elsewhere |
| Leather and tanning Unnao, Jajmau | Perforated and ladder tray in chemically loaded, humid halls | SS316 in tanning areas |
| Defence corridor and engineering Lucknow, Kanpur nodes | Ladder tray for shop power, perforated for control | Hot dip galvanized |
| Food and agro processing Sandila, Malwan | Stainless perforated tray in washdown areas | SS304 |
| Commercial and institutional Lucknow city | Light and medium duty perforated tray in shafts | Powder coated over galvanized base |
Lucknow and Kanpur sits inland with moderate humidity and no salt-laden air. That is not a trivial detail — it changes the economics of the tray package compared with a coastal site like Mumbai or Mundra.
Where the boundaries fall is a Lucknow and Kanpur-specific judgement rather than a general rule. The building envelope is the line that matters, and it is worth drawing it explicitly on the tray layout rather than leaving it to be inferred. Across a site at Kanpur, Unnao or Malwan that usually means the tray schedule is split into two or three finish bands rather than quoted at a single grade, and the saving on the lower band normally pays for the upgrade on the higher one.
Hot dip galvanizing to IS 2629 and IS 4759, applied after fabrication, gives a heavier and more uniform coating that also covers welds and cut edges. Specify it for anything outdoors — rooftop solar, pipe racks, open yards, utility blocks. The monsoon at Lucknow and Kanpur is long enough that this is the right call for any run not under a roof.
Stainless steel is specified for a different reason here: not weather, but cleaning and process chemistry. SS304 covers most pharmaceutical and food applications. Move to SS316 only where chlorides are present. Specifying SS316 where SS304 would do is one of the commonest ways a tray package budget gets inflated.
On Lucknow and Kanpur projects specifically, the runs that get under-specified are the ones that start indoors and finish outside — a feed leaving a shed to a yard-mounted panel, or a rooftop route. The whole run usually gets priced at the indoor finish. It is worth walking the route on the drawing zone by zone before the order goes in — on a fertiliser and chemicalskanpur, panki job around Kanpur or Unnao, that exercise usually changes two or three line items and costs nothing at enquiry stage.
Powder coating is chosen for appearance rather than protection and suits exposed runs in commercial interiors and IT fit-outs. It should sit over a galvanized base wherever moisture is expected, not over bare steel.

Three things belong on the enquiry and are easy to leave off. The standard — normally IS 14927 Part 2, or IEC 61537 where the project is written to international documents. The load class, which fixes what the tray can carry. And the support spacing on the drawing, which has to be consistent with that load class. Galvanizing follows IS 277 for pre-galvanized sheet or IS 2629 and IS 4759 for hot dip. Give us those and the quotation and documentation will match the drawing.
Our works at MIDC Additional Ambernath is 4 days by road from Lucknow and Kanpur. Deliveries run to Kanpur, Unnao, Sandila, Amausi, Chinhat, Malwan. Trays are bundled and strapped for site handling, and accessories can be packed separately by zone where a project is erected in phases. For larger site packages we can stage dispatch against your erection schedule rather than delivering the full quantity at once.
Share the tray layout or bill of quantities with sizes, finish and accessories. You get back a line-by-line quotation with dispatch timing.

Our works is at MIDC Additional Ambernath, Thane, 4 days by road from Lucknow and Kanpur, and we dispatch to all its industrial belts including Kanpur, Unnao, Sandila, Amausi, Chinhat. Trays are supplied in standard 2500 mm and 3000 mm lengths, bundled and strapped for site handling.
Lucknow and Kanpur is inland with no salt-laden air, so pre-galvanized tray to IS 277 is usually adequate for indoor runs inside a covered plant. Specify hot dip galvanized to IS 2629 for outdoor runs, rooftop solar and open yards. Use SS304 where washdown or product contact applies, and SS316 only where process chlorides are present.
Indoors, usually yes. Outdoors it is a false economy — monsoon exposure will reach the cut edges long before the design life is up. The usual approach at Lucknow and Kanpur is pre-galvanized inside the building envelope and hot dip galvanized for everything beyond it.
Lead time follows quantity, finish and whether accessories are included. Hot dip galvanizing adds processing time over pre-galvanized material, and stainless steel is made to order. Send the bill of quantities with the finish required and a dispatch date comes back with the quotation.
IS 14927 Part 1 covers general requirements and Part 2 covers cable trays, including load class and span. Confirm the standard, load class and support spacing your consultant has specified and we will quote and document against it.
From 50 mm to 1200 mm wide, 15 mm to 150 mm side rail height and 1.2 mm to 3 mm thick, in 2500 mm and 3000 mm standard lengths, in light, medium and heavy duty. Supports go up to 2000 mm. Anything outside that range is made to order.
