Industrial belts served: Chakan · Ranjangaon · Talegaon · Bhosari & Pimpri-Chinchwad · Hinjawadi · Shikrapur · Khed City · Kurkumbh · Baramati
Pune is not a single market for cable tray. A press shop in Bhosari, a data hall in Hinjawadi and a sterile block in Ranjangaon each need a different tray profile, a different finish and a different support spacing.
The Pune belt runs on automotive manufacturing, electronics and IT infrastructure, formulations and bulk drugs, sugar and distillery, and a fast-growing data centre corridor along the Mumbai–Pune expressway. Automotive plants around Chakan and Shikrapur run heavy power cabling to presses and robot cells, which calls for ladder tray on wider support centres, with perforated tray carrying instrumentation alongside.
Mitool Equipments Pvt. Ltd. manufactures cable management systems at MIDC Additional Ambernath in Thane district and supplies them throughout Pune. We quote against your cable schedule and tray layout rather than a generic size list — send the drawing with the finish required and the quotation comes back with tray sizes, bends, reducers, coupler plates and supports listed line by line, with a dispatch date.
Ventilated base for heat dissipation. The default choice for control, instrumentation and mixed cabling in Pune plants, fit-outs and commercial buildings.
Two side rails with welded rungs. Used for heavy power runs where cable weight, ventilation and long support spans matter.
Rungs bolted rather than welded, so rung spacing can be adjusted at site and a damaged rung replaced without cutting into the run.
SS304 and SS316 for pharmaceutical, food, chemical and washdown areas where galvanized finishes will not hold up.
Brackets and supports fixed to wall or structure to carry the tray run, supplied in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Horizontal and vertical bends, inside and outside risers, reducers, tee and cross sections, coupler plates and clamps in matching material and finish.
A starting point for tray selection by application. Final selection follows your cable schedule, fill ratio and support spacing.
| Sector and belt | Typical tray | Usual finish |
|---|---|---|
| Automotive and components Chakan, Bhosari, Shikrapur, Khed City | Ladder tray for power to presses and robot cells; perforated for control and instrumentation | Pre-galvanized indoors, hot dip galvanized for yards and utility areas |
| Data centres and IT campuses Hinjawadi, Talegaon, Kharadi | Perforated tray on segregated tiers, power and structured cabling kept clearly separated | Pre-galvanized or powder coated; hot dip for rooftop and plant room runs |
| Pharmaceutical and food Ranjangaon, Pirangut, Kurkumbh | Perforated or ladder tray in stainless steel, with smooth edges for cleaning access | SS304 as standard; SS316 where cleaning chemicals are aggressive |
| Chemical and process Kurkumbh MIDC, Jejuri | Ladder tray for main runs, perforated tray for instrumentation | SS316 in process areas; hot dip galvanized elsewhere |
| Sugar, distillery and agro Baramati, Daund, Indapur | Ladder tray on long spans through open process areas | Hot dip galvanized for humidity and process vapour |
| Commercial and institutional Hadapsar, Magarpatta, Pune city | Light and medium duty perforated tray in service corridors and shafts | Pre-galvanized or powder coated to match interiors |
| Rooftop and ground mount solar across Pune district | Perforated tray for DC string routing, ladder tray for AC runs to inverter rooms | Hot dip galvanized — continuous UV and monsoon exposure |
Pune sits inland with moderate humidity and no salt-laden air. That is not a trivial detail — it changes the economics of the tray package compared with a coastal site like Mumbai or Mundra.
Where the boundaries fall is a Pune-specific judgement rather than a general rule. The building envelope is the line that matters, and it is worth drawing it explicitly on the tray layout rather than leaving it to be inferred. Across a site at Chakan, Ranjangaon or Baramati that usually means the tray schedule is split into two or three finish bands rather than quoted at a single grade, and the saving on the lower band normally pays for the upgrade on the higher one.
Pre-galvanized sheet to IS 277, formed after galvanizing, is usually sufficient for runs inside a covered building and is the most economical option. At normal tray thicknesses the zinc protects cut edges by sacrificial action.
Hot dip galvanizing to IS 2629 and IS 4759, applied after fabrication, gives a heavier and more uniform coating that also covers welds and cut edges. Specify it for anything outdoors — rooftop solar, pipe racks, open yards, utility blocks. The monsoon at Pune is long enough that this is the right call for any run not under a roof.
On Pune projects specifically, the runs that get under-specified are the ones that start indoors and finish outside — a feed leaving a shed to a yard-mounted panel, or a rooftop route. The whole run usually gets priced at the indoor finish. It is worth walking the route on the drawing zone by zone before the order goes in — on a automotive and componentschakan, bhosari, shikrapur, khed city job around Chakan or Ranjangaon, that exercise usually changes two or three line items and costs nothing at enquiry stage.
Powder coating is chosen for appearance rather than protection and suits exposed runs in commercial interiors and IT fit-outs. It should sit over a galvanized base wherever moisture is expected, not over bare steel.

IS 14927 Part 1 sets the general requirements for cable trunking and ducting systems; Part 2 covers cable trays and cable ladder systems, including load class and permissible span, and IEC 61537 is its international equivalent. Galvanizing is specified as IS 277 for pre-galvanized sheet or IS 2629 and IS 4759 for hot dip. Send us the standard, load class and support spacing from your consultant's drawing and the quotation will be built against them. The failure we see most often is tray arriving at site correct in every dimension but supplied to a lower load class than the support spacing on the drawing assumes.
Our works at MIDC Additional Ambernath is roughly 110 km from Pune. Deliveries run to Chakan, Ranjangaon, Talegaon, Bhosari & Pimpri-Chinchwad, Hinjawadi, Shikrapur, Khed City, Kurkumbh, Baramati. Trays are bundled and strapped for site handling, and accessories can be packed separately by zone where a project is erected in phases. For larger site packages we can stage dispatch against your erection schedule rather than delivering the full quantity at once.
Share the tray layout or bill of quantities with sizes, finish and accessories. You get back a line-by-line quotation with dispatch timing.

Pune is inland with no salt-laden air, so pre-galvanized tray to IS 277 is usually adequate for indoor runs inside a covered plant. Specify hot dip galvanized to IS 2629 for outdoor runs, rooftop solar and open yards. Use SS304 where washdown or product contact applies, and SS316 only where process chlorides are present.
Indoors, usually yes. Outdoors it is a false economy — monsoon exposure will reach the cut edges long before the design life is up. The usual approach at Pune is pre-galvanized inside the building envelope and hot dip galvanized for everything beyond it.
It depends on the quantity and the finish. Pre-galvanized material moves fastest; hot dip galvanizing adds a processing stage, and stainless tray is made to order rather than held in stock. Give us the quantities and finish and the dispatch date is confirmed with the price.
Yes. Tell us which standard applies — usually IS 14927 Part 2, or IEC 61537 on internationally written projects — along with the load class and support spacing, and the quotation and documentation are prepared against it.
Widths from 50 mm to 1200 mm, side rail heights from 15 mm to 150 mm, thicknesses from 1.2 mm to 3 mm, and standard lengths of 2500 mm and 3000 mm, in light, medium and heavy duty. Supports are available up to 2000 mm wide.
