Goa is a small market with a demanding specification. Almost everything is within the coastal chloride band, so the finish question that is optional inland becomes unavoidable here.
The pharmaceutical cluster at Verna and Kundaim is the main consumer of stainless tray in the state, and on most of those projects SS316 rather than SS304 is the defensible grade once coastal air is accounted for.
Mitool Equipments Pvt. Ltd. manufactures cable management systems at MIDC Additional Ambernath in Thane district and supplies them throughout Goa. We quote against your cable schedule and tray layout rather than a generic size list — send the drawing with the finish required and the quotation comes back with tray sizes, bends, reducers, coupler plates and supports listed line by line, with a dispatch date.
Slotted base that lets cable heat escape and allows clamping and hold-down at any point along the run. The highest-volume tray type on most Goa projects.
The fittings that make a run continuous: bends, risers, reducers, tees, crosses, coupler plates and clamps, all in the tray's own grade.
What Each Goa Sector Specifies
A starting point for tray selection by application. Final selection follows your cable schedule, fill ratio and support spacing.

Choosing the Right Finish for Goa
Goa is a coastal environment. Airborne chloride is the governing factor here, not rainfall, and it changes the finish decision completely compared with an inland site.
Where the boundaries fall is a Goa-specific judgement rather than a general rule. Distance from the water is the variable that matters most, and it changes fast — a plant two kilometres inland can often drop a grade against one on the shoreline. Across a site at Verna Industrial Estate, Pilerne or Mormugao that usually means the tray schedule is split into two or three finish bands rather than quoted at a single grade, and the saving on the lower band normally pays for the upgrade on the higher one.
Pre-galvanized sheet to IS 277 is generally not enough on its own near the shore. It is acceptable only for runs well inside a sealed, air-conditioned building, and even then the cut edges are the first thing to go.
Hot dip galvanizing to IS 2629 and IS 4759 is the sensible baseline for Goa. Applied after fabrication, it puts a heavier and more uniform zinc layer over welds and cut edges, which is exactly where chloride attack starts.
On Goa projects specifically, the runs that get under-specified are almost always the semi-outdoor ones — covered walkways, plant rooms with louvres, loading aprons. They read as indoor on the drawing and behave as outdoor in practice. It is worth walking the route on the drawing zone by zone before the order goes in — on a pharmaceuticalverna, kundaim, corlim job around Verna Industrial Estate or Pilerne, that exercise usually changes two or three line items and costs nothing at enquiry stage.
Powder coating should never be applied over bare steel in Goa. Once moisture gets behind the film at a scratch, corrosion spreads under the coating unseen. Over a galvanized base it is fine, and it is the usual choice for exposed runs in commercial interiors.

Tray in India is normally specified to IS 14927 — Part 1 for general requirements, Part 2 for trays and ladder systems including load class and span — with IEC 61537 cited as the international equivalent on multinational projects. Galvanizing is called out as IS 277 for pre-galvanized sheet or IS 2629 and IS 4759 for hot dip. Confirm all three at enquiry stage: standard, load class and support spacing. They have to agree with each other, and settling that before the order costs nothing.
Delivery to Goa
Our works at MIDC Additional Ambernath is about 590 km from Goa. Deliveries run to Verna Industrial Estate, Pilerne, Kundaim, Corlim, Bicholim, Mormugao. Trays are bundled and strapped for site handling, and accessories can be packed separately by zone where a project is erected in phases. For larger site packages we can stage dispatch against your erection schedule rather than delivering the full quantity at once.

Yes. Our works is at MIDC Additional Ambernath, Thane, about 590 km from Goa, and we dispatch to all its industrial belts including Verna Industrial Estate, Pilerne, Kundaim, Corlim, Bicholim. Trays are supplied in standard 2500 mm and 3000 mm lengths, bundled and strapped for site handling.
Which cable tray finish lasts in Goa's coastal air?
Hot dip galvanized to IS 2629 is the practical baseline for Goa because the coating covers welds and cut edges, which is where chloride attack begins. Close to the water, or in plants drawing marine air through ventilation, SS316 is the right specification rather than SS304. Pre-galvanized tray should be restricted to sealed indoor runs.
Is SS304 enough for a coastal plant?
Usually not within the salt-spray band. SS304 handles washdown and cleaning chemistry well but pits under chloride exposure. SS316 contains molybdenum, which is what resists chloride pitting, so it is the grade to specify for genuinely coastal installations.
How long does an order take?
Quantity and finish drive it. Hot dip galvanizing is an extra processing stage after fabrication, and stainless is made to order, so both take longer than pre-galvanized. Share the bill of quantities and the dispatch date is confirmed alongside the quotation.
Do you supply test or compliance documentation?
Yes, against the standard your specification names. IS 14927 Part 2 is the usual Indian reference and IEC 61537 the international one. We need the load class and the support spacing from the drawing as well, because the three have to be consistent.
Which tray sizes are available?
50 mm to 1200 mm width, 15 mm to 150 mm side rail height, 1.2 mm to 3 mm thickness and 2500 mm or 3000 mm standard length, in light, medium and heavy duty, with supports to 2000 mm. Non-standard sizes are made to order from your drawing.
