Industrial belts served: Butibori MIDC · Hingna MIDC · MIHAN SEZ · Kalmeshwar · Umred
Nagpur and the wider Vidarbha belt is driven by power generation, coal and heavy engineering, and the tray schedules reflect it: more ladder tray, higher load classes and longer spans than a typical western Maharashtra project.
The climate matters here too. Vidarbha summers are among the hottest in Maharashtra, so outdoor runs see UV and thermal cycling that a coastal specification does not have to allow for.
Mitool Equipments Pvt. Ltd. manufactures cable management systems at MIDC Additional Ambernath in Thane district and supplies them throughout Nagpur. We quote against your cable schedule and tray layout rather than a generic size list — send the drawing with the finish required and the quotation comes back with tray sizes, bends, reducers, coupler plates and supports listed line by line, with a dispatch date.
Perforated base for ventilation and cable fixing. Carries the control, instrumentation and lighter power cabling on most Nagpur installations.
Rail-and-rung construction built for weight and span. The choice wherever a perforated section would need supports too close together.
Adjustable bolted rungs for installations where the cable layout is still moving or where maintenance access matters.
Stainless tray in SS304 and SS316 for classified, washdown and chemically exposed areas where galvanizing will not last.
Supports and brackets that carry the run off a wall or structure, supplied in the same material and finish as the tray.
Matching accessories throughout — bends, risers, reducers, tee and cross sections, coupler plates and clamps.
A starting point for tray selection by application. Final selection follows your cable schedule, fill ratio and support spacing.
| Sector and belt | Typical tray | Usual finish |
|---|---|---|
| Power generation Koradi, Khaparkheda, Butibori | Ladder tray for heavy cabling in switchyards and plant buildings | Hot dip galvanized throughout |
| Heavy engineering and castings Hingna MIDC, Butibori | Ladder tray for furnace and machine power, perforated for control | Hot dip galvanized; pre-galvanized in enclosed shops |
| Logistics and aviation MIHAN SEZ, Nagpur airport | Perforated tray for lighting, power and data in warehouses and MRO hangars | Pre-galvanized indoors, hot dip at aprons |
| Coal and mining support Umred, Kanhan, Chandrapur corridor | Ladder tray in dusty, vibration-prone environments | Hot dip galvanized |
| Solar across Vidarbha | Perforated tray for DC strings, ladder for AC runs | Hot dip galvanized — high UV load |
Nagpur runs hot and dry for most of the year, with high UV, large day-to-night temperature swings and airborne dust. Corrosion is slower here than on the coast, but thermal movement and dust loading become the things worth designing around.
Where the boundaries fall is a Nagpur-specific judgement rather than a general rule. Roof level is the line that matters. Surface temperatures on an exposed roof here run far above ambient, and anything routed up there belongs in a different specification band. Across a site at Butibori MIDC, Hingna MIDC or Umred that usually means the tray schedule is split into two or three finish bands rather than quoted at a single grade, and the saving on the lower band normally pays for the upgrade on the higher one.
Pre-galvanized sheet to IS 277 performs well indoors at Nagpur and is the economical choice for runs inside a covered building, where low humidity works in its favour.
Hot dip galvanizing to IS 2629 and IS 4759 is still the right specification outdoors. The driver is not rain but ultraviolet exposure and the thermal cycling that works at coating and fasteners over years of 40°C-plus summers — which is also why Nagpur rooftop and ground-mount solar installations call for it almost without exception.
On Nagpur projects specifically, the runs that get under-specified are rooftop and yard routes priced on the assumption that low rainfall means low risk. It is ultraviolet exposure and thermal cycling that do the damage here, not water. It is worth walking the route on the drawing zone by zone before the order goes in — on a power generationkoradi, khaparkheda, butibori job around Butibori MIDC or Hingna MIDC, that exercise usually changes two or three line items and costs nothing at enquiry stage.
Two Nagpur-specific points worth putting on the drawing: allow for thermal expansion at couplers on long outdoor runs, because the temperature swing is larger than most standard details assume; and remember that a perforated base helps dust fall through rather than collecting on the tray, which matters more here than in a humid climate.

Three things belong on the enquiry and are easy to leave off. The standard — normally IS 14927 Part 2, or IEC 61537 where the project is written to international documents. The load class, which fixes what the tray can carry. And the support spacing on the drawing, which has to be consistent with that load class. Galvanizing follows IS 277 for pre-galvanized sheet or IS 2629 and IS 4759 for hot dip. Give us those and the quotation and documentation will match the drawing.
Our works at MIDC Additional Ambernath is about 840 km from Nagpur. Deliveries run to Butibori MIDC, Hingna MIDC, MIHAN SEZ, Kalmeshwar, Umred. Trays are bundled and strapped for site handling, and accessories can be packed separately by zone where a project is erected in phases. For larger site packages we can stage dispatch against your erection schedule rather than delivering the full quantity at once.
Share the tray layout or bill of quantities with sizes, finish and accessories. You get back a line-by-line quotation with dispatch timing.
Request a Quotation Call +91-251-2621925Yes. Our works is at MIDC Additional Ambernath, Thane, about 840 km from Nagpur, and we dispatch to all its industrial belts including Butibori MIDC, Hingna MIDC, MIHAN SEZ, Kalmeshwar, Umred. Trays are supplied in standard 2500 mm and 3000 mm lengths, bundled and strapped for site handling.
Indoors, yes — pre-galvanized to IS 277 performs well in low humidity. Outdoors, hot dip galvanized to IS 2629 is still recommended, because the governing factors are ultraviolet exposure and thermal cycling rather than rainfall.
Thermal expansion at coupler joints. The day-to-night and summer-to-winter swing at Nagpur is larger than many standard support details assume, so expansion provision on long outdoor runs is worth confirming at the design stage.
Lead time follows quantity, finish and whether accessories are included. Hot dip galvanizing adds processing time over pre-galvanized material, and stainless steel is made to order. Send the bill of quantities with the finish required and a dispatch date comes back with the quotation.
IS 14927 Part 1 covers general requirements and Part 2 covers cable trays, including load class and span. Confirm the standard, load class and support spacing your consultant has specified and we will quote and document against it.
From 50 mm to 1200 mm wide, 15 mm to 150 mm side rail height and 1.2 mm to 3 mm thick, in 2500 mm and 3000 mm standard lengths, in light, medium and heavy duty. Supports go up to 2000 mm. Anything outside that range is made to order.
