Industrial belts served: Hazira · Sachin GIDC · Pandesara GIDC · Olpad · Palsana · Kim
Hazira is a coastal heavy-industry cluster, which puts steel plants, an LNG terminal and a working port inside the same chloride band.
On the jetty and in the splash zone, SS316 is the only grade that makes sense. A few kilometres inland at Sachin or Pandesara, hot dip galvanized does the job and the cost difference across a large package is substantial — which is why the zoning is worth settling before the tray is ordered.
Mitool Equipments Pvt. Ltd. manufactures cable management systems at MIDC Additional Ambernath in Thane district and supplies them throughout Surat & Hazira. We quote against your cable schedule and tray layout rather than a generic size list — send the drawing with the finish required and the quotation comes back with tray sizes, bends, reducers, coupler plates and supports listed line by line, with a dispatch date.
Ventilated base for heat dissipation. The default choice for control, instrumentation and mixed cabling in Surat and Hazira plants, fit-outs and commercial buildings.
Two side rails with welded rungs. Used for heavy power runs where cable weight, ventilation and long support spans matter.
Rungs bolted rather than welded, so rung spacing can be adjusted at site and a damaged rung replaced without cutting into the run.
SS304 and SS316 for pharmaceutical, food, chemical and washdown areas where galvanized finishes will not hold up.
Brackets and supports fixed to wall or structure to carry the tray run, supplied in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Horizontal and vertical bends, inside and outside risers, reducers, tee and cross sections, coupler plates and clamps in matching material and finish.
A starting point for tray selection by application. Final selection follows your cable schedule, fill ratio and support spacing.
| Sector and belt | Typical tray | Usual finish |
|---|---|---|
| Steel and heavy industry Hazira | Ladder tray for heavy power runs in plant buildings and yards | Hot dip galvanized; SS316 near the shore |
| LNG and port terminals Hazira port | Ladder tray on jetty and outdoor structures | SS316 at the jetty, hot dip galvanized inland |
| Textiles and processing Pandesara, Sachin, Palsana | Perforated tray in humid, lint-heavy process halls | Hot dip galvanized |
| Chemicals and dyes Sachin GIDC, Kim | Ladder tray for main runs, perforated for instrumentation | SS316 in process areas |
| Diamond and gems Surat city, Khajod | Light duty perforated tray for clean power and data | Pre-galvanized or powder coated |
Surat and Hazira is a coastal environment. Airborne chloride is the governing factor here, not rainfall, and it changes the finish decision completely compared with an inland site.
Where the boundaries fall is a Surat and Hazira-specific judgement rather than a general rule. Distance from the water is the variable that matters most, and it changes fast — a plant two kilometres inland can often drop a grade against one on the shoreline. Across a site at Hazira, Sachin GIDC or Kim that usually means the tray schedule is split into two or three finish bands rather than quoted at a single grade, and the saving on the lower band normally pays for the upgrade on the higher one.
Pre-galvanized sheet to IS 277 is generally not enough on its own near the shore. It is acceptable only for runs well inside a sealed, air-conditioned building, and even then the cut edges are the first thing to go.
Stainless steel earns its cost here. Within a few kilometres of the water, or in any plant handling marine air through its ventilation, SS316 is the grade to specify rather than SS304 — the molybdenum content is what resists chloride pitting. Inland of that band, SS304 is usually adequate for washdown and process-cleaning duty.
On Surat and Hazira projects specifically, the runs that get under-specified are almost always the semi-outdoor ones — covered walkways, plant rooms with louvres, loading aprons. They read as indoor on the drawing and behave as outdoor in practice. It is worth walking the route on the drawing zone by zone before the order goes in — on a steel and heavy industryhazira job around Hazira or Sachin GIDC, that exercise usually changes two or three line items and costs nothing at enquiry stage.
Powder coating should never be applied over bare steel in Surat and Hazira. Once moisture gets behind the film at a scratch, corrosion spreads under the coating unseen. Over a galvanized base it is fine, and it is the usual choice for exposed runs in commercial interiors.

IS 14927 Part 1 sets the general requirements for cable trunking and ducting systems; Part 2 covers cable trays and cable ladder systems, including load class and permissible span, and IEC 61537 is its international equivalent. Galvanizing is specified as IS 277 for pre-galvanized sheet or IS 2629 and IS 4759 for hot dip. Send us the standard, load class and support spacing from your consultant's drawing and the quotation will be built against them. The failure we see most often is tray arriving at site correct in every dimension but supplied to a lower load class than the support spacing on the drawing assumes.
Our works at MIDC Additional Ambernath is about 300 km from Surat and Hazira. Deliveries run to Hazira, Sachin GIDC, Pandesara GIDC, Olpad, Palsana, Kim. Trays are bundled and strapped for site handling, and accessories can be packed separately by zone where a project is erected in phases. For larger site packages we can stage dispatch against your erection schedule rather than delivering the full quantity at once.
Share the tray layout or bill of quantities with sizes, finish and accessories. You get back a line-by-line quotation with dispatch timing.
Request a Quotation Call +91-251-2621925Yes. Our works is at MIDC Additional Ambernath, Thane, about 300 km from Surat and Hazira, and we dispatch to all its industrial belts including Hazira, Sachin GIDC, Pandesara GIDC, Olpad, Palsana. Trays are supplied in standard 2500 mm and 3000 mm lengths, bundled and strapped for site handling.
Hot dip galvanized to IS 2629 is the practical baseline for Surat and Hazira because the coating covers welds and cut edges, which is where chloride attack begins. Close to the water, or in plants drawing marine air through ventilation, SS316 is the right specification rather than SS304. Pre-galvanized tray should be restricted to sealed indoor runs.
Usually not within the salt-spray band. SS304 handles washdown and cleaning chemistry well but pits under chloride exposure. SS316 contains molybdenum, which is what resists chloride pitting, so it is the grade to specify for genuinely coastal installations.
It depends on the quantity and the finish. Pre-galvanized material moves fastest; hot dip galvanizing adds a processing stage, and stainless tray is made to order rather than held in stock. Give us the quantities and finish and the dispatch date is confirmed with the price.
Yes. Tell us which standard applies — usually IS 14927 Part 2, or IEC 61537 on internationally written projects — along with the load class and support spacing, and the quotation and documentation are prepared against it.
Widths from 50 mm to 1200 mm, side rail heights from 15 mm to 150 mm, thicknesses from 1.2 mm to 3 mm, and standard lengths of 2500 mm and 3000 mm, in light, medium and heavy duty. Supports are available up to 2000 mm wide.
